Announcing “Whiteclay: An American Tragedy” by John Maisch
John Maisch passed away suddenly in 2022. Up until his death, John contributed however he could to the vision of Whiteclay as a place of peace and healing, working alongside locals of the Pine Ridge Reservation and activist Frank LaMere.
John was deeply impassioned by this issue. He wrote about Whiteclay as a documentary filmmaker, an advocate, and a lawyer who drew on his experience and expertise as General Counsel for the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage Laws Enforcement (ABLE) Commission to motivate lawmakers towards lasting change in the tiny Nebraska town.
John’s family is pleased to announce that his work will now be published in the upcoming book, “Whiteclay: An American Tragedy” by John Maisch, with a foreword by Paul Hammel. John wished to share his words with the world, and in honor of his legacy of courage, a portion of the proceeds of every book sale will help to further the vision of Whiteclay as a place of peace and healing.
